Carpet cleaner recommendations please

Done a search but can't really find an answer via the app!

Thinking of getting the VAX platinum cleaner as want to clean some carpets , mats and sofas.

Anyone give any recommendations please?

Also do I need to buy expensive cleaning solutions or can I use an alternative

I have the basic vax carpet cleaner and find it very good and a friend has the platinum one she raves about it supposed to be very good and has the tool for stairs and furniture, I don't buy the expensive solution, I use either liquid laundry washing solution or stardrops in mine , I do my carpets around once a month just to keep them fresh, it also comes in handy if someone spills a big amount of water or liquid on the carpets as you can just use it as a wet hoover to slurp up the water

I have the Bissell Stain Pro 10 and love it. It's heavy but very quick and easy to set up so useful for spills etc.
