Just curious to see what your daily cleaning routines looks like! What do you clean daily and how long does it take you on average? Smile

I clean the worksurfaces in the kitchen every day, ditto the sink. Check the toilets and give the washbasins a wipe over. I tidy the rest of the house and hoover if necessary.

I thoroughly clean the bathrooms and loos each week, change the bedding and wipe down the kitchen cupboards.

The rest of the cleaning gets done as and when.

The living room gets hoovered (I have a mini cordless Hoover I love) every day, usually twice. Once midday and once in the evening. In my defence, I have an 11 month old and fluffy cat. This usually takes about 5 minutes a time.

I usually scoop out the cats litter tray once a day in the evening. This takes a minute.

Every single night I clean the kitchen before heading to bed and put a wash on. There's something so nice about coming downstairs to no washing up or mess. This is a whole routine of washing DS's dummies, putting them in the steriliser boxes. Washing everything up. I ping down the sides. Putting steriliser boxes in microwave. Running the actual steriliser and refilling if depending on if I've used a bottle that day (DS is still breastfeeding but I sometimes make formula to put in his museli). Putting laundry in the machine and setting it to wash around midnight. Then comes the shaking the steriliser boxes, cleaning the high chair, feeding the cat, putting out any bins/recycling. This takes between 20-40 minutes and it's effort but honestly makes my mornings and generally whole days run much smoother.

Everything else is cleaned on a sort of schedule but not daily. What's your routine like?

StormBaby · 05/12/2019 16:40

Im at work and my DH is at home most days during the week, switching at weekends, but either of us do the same jobs daily. Hoover, Mop, wipe kitchen, load dishwasher, washing on and dry washing away, wipe bathroom. Less often during a week is picking up dog poo and jet washing, dusting, wiping woodwork, changing bedding, deep clean bathrooms

Lsquiggles · 05/12/2019 16:44

Similar to op really. I usually put the dishwasher on, hand wash the things that can't be put in the dishwasher including baby bottles then wipe down the kitchen counters and stove. General tidying of the living room and hoover if needed, wipe down and tidy the sink area and put a wash on if needed (I don't like putting it on everyday because our machine is very loud and it gives me a headache) Grin

Errrr. Most days I don't clean anything. We all share cleaning. We all wipe down sides after cooking, mop floor as and when needed, clean loos, showers etc as needed. No strict routine.

I don't do it all. Other people live here too and they clean up after themselves. I refuse to be a maid.

Aquamarine1029 · 05/12/2019 16:46

I really enjoy cleaning, so luckily I don't see it as a chore. Well, except for the shower walls. HATE cleaning those. Anyway...

My kitchen is fully cleaned every day. Worktops, hob, sink, sweep and steam mop tile floor. It really doesn't take long at all, maybe 15ish minutes. One of my "beliefs" is that it's bad for one's mental well-being to wake up to a dirty, messy kitchen and makes a bad start to the day, so I like to keep it tidy.

I have a robot vac and run that several times a day. I have cats so it's a necessity with all their damn fur. I'll do a full hoover with my regular vac on the rugs a couple of times a week.

I quickly wipe the bathrooms down everyday with a cloth and a bit of cleanser, and usually a quick swish of the toilets most days.

As for stuff around the house, I have a place for everything and everything is kept in it's place. I very much dislike clutter and messiness.

Brakebackcyclebot · 05/12/2019 16:51

Wow Aqua that's impressive. I hate mopping. We have 2 cats & a dog and I would feel miserable mopping even once every day. Different folks!

Aquamarine1029 · 05/12/2019 16:56

@brakebackcyclebot

Haha! There's nothing impressive about mopping! I despise regular mops, but my steam one is so quick and easy to use. Believe me, if I didn't have it, I seriously doubt I'd have the motivation to do it every day!

fedup21 · 05/12/2019 16:59

Kitchen surfaces, kitchen floor get done daily. The dishwasher and washing machine normally go on daily as well. Hoover and mop, bathroom and clean toilets weekly.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 05/12/2019 17:03

As little as possible

nachthexe · 05/12/2019 17:04

robovac several times a day plus regular vac a couple of times a week? Holy fuck. I mow the dog drifts when they threaten to choke people. Awe.

Tableclothing · 05/12/2019 17:05

My backside.

PaquitaVariation · 05/12/2019 17:08

My teeth.

I don’t have anything approaching a routine when it comes to cleaning. I just do bits as and when I think they need doing.

OllyBJolly · 05/12/2019 17:18

I brush my teeth. Does that count?

Sleepforever · 05/12/2019 17:21

Other people's houses 😃

Lsquiggles · 05/12/2019 17:22

Haha I wish I could get away with just brushing my teeth but my oh is hopeless at cleaning so if I left it all to him I dread to think the state the house would be in Hmm

Clettercletterthatsbetter · 05/12/2019 19:10

I don’t have a daily cleaning routine, but I always put a load of laundry on first thing (and often another load during the day), kitchen surfaces get wiped down after meals, and at the end of the day the hob and dining table are also wiped down, dishwasher goes on and things that can’t go in the dishwasher are washed. Like a PP, I can’t bear coming downstairs to a messy kitchen, it sets me up for a grumpy day!

Other things are done when they need to be/when I feel like it. Toilets and bathroom sinks at least twice a week, ditto vacuuming. Mopping maybe once a week.

Grobagsforever · 05/12/2019 19:11

My teeth

Mumshappy · 05/12/2019 19:16

The bathroom, kitchen and hall floor which needs wiping over every day due to muddy pram wheels and shoes. I also wash every day bar xmas day and my birthday.

CremeEggThief · 05/12/2019 22:05

Washing up and cleaning the kitchen surfaces with hot soapy water are my only daily chores.

Jeleste · 05/12/2019 22:07

Kitchen and atm toilet because DS cant aim properly -.-
And we have a robot vacuum that runs every day.

Kinsters · 06/12/2019 08:57

I hoover or sweep the kitchen, hall and our bedroom most days. When our baby is here her room will also get hoovered daily. The kitchen is fully cleaned after dinner - all washing up done, sink cleaned and counters cleaned if needed.

Everything else gets done on a much more ad hoc basis.

hawaiianturtle · 06/12/2019 09:20

The floors. Every single day Smile

maybebabyagain · 06/12/2019 09:44

Each day I hoover, wipe kitchen sides down and do 3 -4 loads of washing
We have a cleaner once a week for 3 hours Wednesday and Saturdays and Sunday’s I do 2 hours deep cleaning/de cluttering when dh takes dc out

Mumshappy · 06/12/2019 10:56

Bloody hell maybebabyagain how many dcs do you have for all that washing.
