Play-doh on carpet - ideas?

Grandchildren have trampled play-doh into a sisal/coir matted area. Online suggests let it dry and use a stiff brush but that didn't work.

Any ideas?

I wondered about covering it with kitchen roll and then ironing it? Would it soften and then come up do you think?

Wouldn't ironing make it worse? I'm thinking the heat might melt it so it goes further into the pile. Was it completely dry when you tried a stiff brush on it?

I tried ice cubes on mine then scraped of it worked to a degree with the doh itself just not the colour!

Yes I was torn about the ironing..... I was hoping it would melt into the kitchen paper but you may be right it'll melt into the carpet.

Ice sounds a good plan as it works with chewing gum to a point. Do you think maybe ice cold but dry might stop the colour run? Maybe if I put ice in a Tupperware type box and put it on top...

I need that Aggie woman off TV!

Knittedfairies (great moniker) yes it was completely dry and some brushed up but it's that grooved sisal so it's stuck in the grooves.

Ice in a Tupperware is worth a try I'm still trying to get the colour out Hmm

Patch test a teeny bit of bicarbonate of soda in some water on the colour, that night it draw it out. It works with cat pee!
Or wet it a little and put something absorbent like a large towel on top of it and weigh it down with the heaviest thing you can get on it. That should work.

Who knew that play doh was such a devil to remove?

I'll try the ice in plastic as soon as I have time and let you know!

Thanks
