Accidentally washed a tissue with clothes

A tissue was in a pocket when I did a wash and now all of the clothes in the wash are covered with tiny bits of tissue. I've tried washing the whole load again but it hasn't worked. Any suggestions please?

Do you have a tumble dryer? If so bung it all in, I’ve done this a couple of times and much to my surprise 95% of it comes off in the dryer and gets caught in the lint filter.

Tumble dryer or hang outside.....

Enoughnow12 · 10/11/2019 21:50

No I don't have a tumble dryer unfortunately

Lint roller or duct tape wrapped sticky side out around your hand. Just pick the bits of each item of clothing as it's needed.

If no dryer you'll have to give them all a good shake and use a clothes brush. You won't make that mistake again!

I have this from time to time. I don't have a tumble dryer so take the clothes outside and give them a good shake. Then another good shake when they're dry.

I use the good shake outside method. Then re-wash if necessary & another good shake. Such a pain, though.

Shake outside. Dts are always leaving tissues in pockets and I really should have learned to check by now.

Howzaboutye · 10/11/2019 22:05

In the future buy Kleenex tissues! They seem to stay together and not disintegrate in the wash. DH never checks his pockets, very annoying, but now its not a massive problem.

I appreciate this does not help you right now!

I just did this too! In my case, my favourite fleece took the brunt of the fluff, so I can hit it with sticky tape.

My husband picked the kids clothes off the bathroom floor and also grabbed a toilet roll without realising. Bunged it all in the wash together, it was awful! I rewashed the clothes then spent ages manually shaking them outside, it was like a snow storm. Tumble dryer also took some off.

Ambydex · 11/11/2019 09:24

Let them dry and brush or sticky tape them then.

If you don't have a tumble dryer, try the hoover
