Am I a manky mare? (Carpet beetle related)

Discovered carpet beetle larvae in the house. Over the past 3 weeks I've found 2 on the bedroom wall, 2 in the ironing pile, 3 along crevices in the bathroom, 1 down the back of the sofa and disgustingly 5 under the tv stand (dustiest place on earth). Now I just feel so icky!

I always thought our cleaning regime was ok, not perfect but main things done such as

Dishes -every night,
vacuum and mopping weekly,
beds changed fortnightly or more often if weather good,
bathrooms given thorough clean weekly
Kitchen wiped down pretty much daily, with good clean weekly.
Bins kept on top of,
Laundry - done daily
Iron twice a week (a big session and a mini session midweek).
Dusting - fortnightly but plan to up this
Oven - pro cleaned twice a year

I can't think of anything woollen/similar natural fabrics we have in the house & there are no pets. I treated bedroom and bathroom with the powder and plan to do the whole house with it tomorrow.

I am gutted. Please tell me there is life after carpet beetle and I am not that much of a manky mare? )

DO you have any bird's nests in the eves or in the roof? We have an issue with carpet beetle if we have nests in our eves. It might be worth taking them down if you do.

DH is going up there tomorrow to have a look @SpringFan. We did have a wasps nest in summer but DH got rid of it.

Have you managed to get the blighters under control?

Yes and no.
We had a mega clearance of the eves, and when we had scaffolding up did a big clear out up there and put mesh in any gaps that birds could get into.
We hoovered out places like the airing cupboard and turned up the carpets edges and hoovered up under them, and used a spray in places where they were turning up frequently. We found loads in the bathroom which is tiled.
I vaccum down clothes and bedding for the "other" season. I know they are supposed to be able survive for ages but I can't believe that they can survive being in a vaccum.
Cross fingers, we seem OK but I keep an eye out for them
