hi all,

my partner for some reason enjoys using this stuff down our toilet - I really dont think it's necessary as it doesnt seem bad enough for such a strong product but there you go. I'm probably extra sensitive as I'm pregnant too but our toilet does not even have a window. any tips on how you use this stuff safely? and how long I will now have to avoid the toilet for? as someone who is over 36 weeks pregnant it's not the easiest thing for me to be able to hold.

thanks in advance x

i used to use this when my children were little and i used to put it down the loo last thing at night, leave it overnight and flush first thing in the morning, tell your hubby to make sure he washes his hand very well as its poisonous

I’ve never heard of this, but it sounds like horrendous stuff!

It's hydrochloric acid. Definitely not necessary or a good idea.

Why does he insist on using it though? It just seems so odd to use it when a bit of bleach will do the same thing.

hasten to add i used to do my loo about once a year with spirit of salts as we were in a very hard water area so bleach only kept the limescale down and it used to build up but wouldnt say a toilet would need doing every week with this
