I've just found a silverfish in my bath and i'm panicking. my skin is crawling and i read that if there's one there's usually more. i also read that silverfish can stem from damage, is it worth looking for a leak or damp or do they just like bathrooms? pls help me get rid of them

This won't help you at all, but I think they're quite cute.

(Sorry).

They might be cute but can cause some damage. Silverfish was the only time I was grateful for ants.

Stop panicking.

I had my bathroom ripped out and new one installed. After about year found one silverfish in the bath. I think it crawled up through the waste pipe (well I'm hoping so). Not seen another since, touch wood!

Just as long as you keep the bathroom as dry as possible you will be okay.

Also you could try using a dehumidifier on the landing outside the bathroom, for extra reassurance. It will help with excess moisture all around the house.
