Has anyone else had an influx of mozzies this summer?

We are still getting them in the house and are being eaten alive ....We've got the plug-in ultrasonic units (4!) which are having no effect whatsoever.

How do you eradicate yours?

Yes, the last three or four weeks and especially at night, we've had mozzies with their high pitched buzzy whine throughout the house in large numbers. Nighttime is the worst when we're perhaps in bed with only the kindle light on and they flick to it like mozzie cat nip. However, they are not like those you get abroad... more midge like in their behaviour and too slow to get away... a well timed tea towel flick and they're history. The moist weather is the underlying cause resulting in late hatching. In developing countries, the easiest way to get rid of the deadly species is to remove water pots (where the larvae develop) or similar every five days as it disrupts their lifecycle. As for removing them... I sometimes resort to spraying them with a fine mist of water... drenched the wings and the rest is ... er... their history.
