Spilt tea on mattress!!! Help!

Hey Mumsnet,
I spilt an entire cup of tea on my bed, it has soaked on to the mattress- how on earth do I clean it to get the stain off?
Ideas advice welcome!

I’ve done this, except mine was a huge glass of gin when I was smashed merry.

I let it air dry for a good few days, and then hired a rug dr and went over it with the attachment a good few times. It came up pretty well actually and dried out.

Then I bought a mattress protector!

@MustardScreams oh my goodness, you are diligent, or I am just a slob.
Gin is colourless. Couldn’t you have just left it alone and no one would have ever been the wiser?

@Biggie123 haha! No it was blood orange gin with blood orange juice! Bloody delicious btw, do try it. So the stain looked awful, and I’d only just bought the mattress.

I have never tried it. But you’ve twisted my arm- i’m picking up a bottle later
