What can I do to kill maggots?

Blow torch ?
Scoop them up and chuck them outside pref on grass / in a park for the birds .
if you use a chemical to kill them please make sure you dispose of the corpses properly so birds don't eat them and get poisoned.

They are outside but the garden path is crawling with them

Boiling water usually kills them depending on how many you might have to do it a couple of times

If they're outside I'd just leave them, the birds will soon see them off. Try and deal with whatever the food source is though?

They are coming from the rubbish bin and that doesnt get collected until tuesday. I have someone coming round to sort it. I did use boiling water last night multiple times but felt like it wasnt doing anything
