Thrilling laundry question

My fitted sheets eat all the other items in the washing machine and nothing gets rinsed properly. Is there a way of making the sheets behave and not do this?

Pop them in a pillow case?

I fold my fitted sheets before putting them in the machine. I also use a netted bag for smalls so they don't get lost

I am intrigued. I have never heard of a fitted sheet behaving this way before. Duvet covers, yes, (in which case do the buttons up) but this is a new one. Stick it in a mesh laundry bag so it can't exercise its malign influence over other, more docile items?

Thanks, think I will give the pillowcase/ mesh bag a go.

Tableclothing I am onto the duvet covers’ tricks, they go nowhere near the machine without buttons done up!

Use a flat sheet instead?.
