Where does the sludge go in my fridge?!

I don't understand my fridge freezer.

How does this bit at the back work? It becomes full of sludge and I clean it out, but there's a hole - where does it go? Is there a reservoir of grossness somewhere?! It's not plumbed in.

Also my freezer keeps forming a weird ice but down the door, why? Does it mean the seals are broken? They seem ok...

There is a reservoir at the back of the fridge freezer that may have manky water in it

Eek! How do you usually access it?

It depends on the FF itself. I had to turn mine round and the reservoir was at the bottom at the back

I wondered this the other day! My fridge is integrated....do I have to figure out a way to get it out to drain off the yuck?

LillyBugg · 03/09/2019 13:12

I thought the water went into a reservoir at the back but then it's so hot from the motor that it evaporates off so you never have to empty it. Literally no idea if this is true.

Ooh actually googled my fridge manual. Apparently if you keep the hole unblocked the manky water evaporates from heat from the compressor so no drainage required!

@LillyBugg you beat me to it oh wise one!

Ours had filled with manky water once so I had to clean it out

Actually feeling quite smug that I knew that 😁
