Maybe a previous thread I said how I cleaned my intergrated oven with some oven brite and the greasy oil mixed with the black stuff from the oven leaked onto my oven surround and stained it.
I tried pink stuff, cif, and eventually white spirit. Ruined. I went to B&Q where they suggested sanding and then using an oil based wood dye. This is how it looks.
Please tell me it at least looks kind of like the wood 
before and after.
