Switching from laundry liquid / tabs / gel back to powder...

Hello

After reading lots of threads on here (and other places too) highlighting how bad for your machine the laundry liquids / gels / capsules etc can be I've decided to switch back to powder.

Will just using powder get rid of all the grot in my machine left by the liquids etc or should I be doing a few 90 degree hot washes first?

I would do hot washes first and clean the filter, drawer and the bit the drawer goes into
