Mission

OP posts:
Jas · 06/08/2007 07:32

Good morning all

I am off to do the shopping as soon as ds finishes his breakfast, then I will be baking and running errands in town.
I will be back this afternoon with a huge list for the week I think.

Morning Jas, thanks for the thread Have a good morning, see you later.

to everyone else

Well, I have had a lovely weekend The outing I was dreading was cancelled so I was able to relax and enjoy some much needed lazy family time instead. We spent most of Saturday at the park with the kids and their bikes, then yesterday was spent lazing around in our garden with the kids in the paddling pool and a nice walk via the park again in the evening Hardly any FLYing done expect the necessary laundry etc because I seem to be (miraculously) keeping fairly on top of it all at the moment

I do this kitchen mission every morning as part of my routine first thing in the morning (I'm feeling rather smug today! )

The children and I are off on a picnic with friends this morning then dd is going to play with a friend this afternoon so ds and I will need to find something to do with ourselves another afternoon of playing racing cars I fear!

I need to run the hoover round and get some washing done. The bathroom/cloakroom could do with having a quick once-over too.

Have a good day everyone, see you later x

Back again, I have been to the doctors with the spotty kid, and apparently he has a rare virus that could take awhile to clear up, so its piriton all the way for us until it clears up.

grouchyoscar · 06/08/2007 16:39

Oh Aufish your poor LO, hope it clears up soon for him.

Well I've tidied the front room and I managed to get the undies on with no real drama (I am amazed) so I'm sat here trussed up like...a trussed up thing tbh! SAt least there is no panic and I'm pleased I don't look like the Pontypool front row on a drag night, which was my previous attempts at basque wearing tbh

Hello.
I am in right now!! I just booked a 4 night break at haven CAMPING!! Not even got a tent yet! Asking mn advice about that. We go on the 21st Aug. Just under £200. Kids are sooo happy .
Hope the weather that week is better than it is right now. Pouring down and thundering!

tortoise · 06/08/2007 17:08

Aufish Hope your DS is better soon.

AufishFeQueen · 06/08/2007 18:36

Thanks Go and Tort, he seems fine otherwise, but am abit concerned now about sending him down to Cornwall on Thursday. Will have to have a chat with the x husband and see if they are happy to have him as it could get worse, the doctors are not going to give me any promises.

shouldbe · 06/08/2007 19:47

It's very quiet round here these days!

I hope your ds is OK aufish tort how exciting to hear about your holiday!
EHM the trains are running again, get your diary out, I'll be emailing with suggestions for visiting dates

Jas · 06/08/2007 20:25

Very quiet....

I did start a post earlier, but lost it, and didn't get back.

I hope your ds is ok aufish

for the holiday tortoise. Even if it rains camping will be exciting and fun for your kids, and Haven sites have lots of indoor stuff to do. I'm sure it will be fun for you all.

lol at the pontypool front rowgrouchy I'm glad you are happy with your outfit.

shouldbe I am glad you are getting out and enjoying your children and the weather. There is more to life than housework

EHM - big wave Everyone is off enjoying the weather I think!

I have no dds until Wednesday, and want to get a few extra jobs done, so I will do a list of hotspots to tackle:

~ Filing
~ Bill payment
~ Windowsill (dining room)
~ DDs wardrobe
~ Coat rack
~ Cutlery drawers
~ Bathroom storage
~ Under my bed
~ Next to fridge
~ Back garden
~ Front garden
~ Shoe bucket
~ Fridge

I'm going to try and do the fining and bill payment this evening, and work through the rest as the week goes on.

We had heavy rain and thunder storm.
Well on a happier note, e now have a tent! Did a buy it now for one recommended to me.
Any FLYers campers? Do we need airbeds or something else? Baring in mind we are travelling by train.(1 adult 4 Kids!)

Jas · 06/08/2007 20:30

Do any of the children have readybeds? Or can you borrow some. They are great cos they have a sleeping bag built in. We borrowed some to go and visit my grandma a couple of weeks ago.

Airbeds are nice, but heavy to carry with all the other stuff on the train, and I wouldn't bother. I use a roll up mat (like a yoga mat) under me, which is lighter to carry.

Camping people will advise you properly I guess.

No, no ready beds here. DD's have fluffy sleeping bags which i hope will do them. How cold does it get in a tent?
I don't even have a suitcase.

Jas · 06/08/2007 20:47

We only did one night in the rain in Yorkshire There were 5 of us in a 3 man festival tent and both dds and dp slept with no covers at all.

Jas · 06/08/2007 20:48

Use all the bags you have, then all the children can help by carrying there own clothes

Hello to all. Apologies in advance if I forget most of what I should say. Just a short post as I still haven't done a distribution list to send myself the e-mail addresses I normally use so that I can use the laptop for e-mails on hols and we go early tomorrow. At least, I think that's what dh said I should do.

Aufish Yes, they are a great bunch and I do think of the thread when I'm getting out of the shower (body lotion, sun screen), in the day (healthy eating, drinking, exercise), in the evening (decent bed time and hand cream). I've now subsituted snacking choccies for brazil nuts or dried apricots. Keep them in the same cupboard as you used to or still do keep the choccies and when you find yourself opening the door, help yourself to a small handful of nuts or apricots instead!

tort I know zilch about camping though the kids do it with scouts or friends regularly. I hope you have a lovely time.

Well, off to see what I can manage to do with this contact list and distribution list. If I don't come back using the laptop on hols, have a good fortnight everyone.

tortoise · 06/08/2007 21:52
