School uniform and stains

DS (5) is coming home from school with most of his lunch over his shirts. I've been treating the stains straight away and then washing but fed up of having to do a load every evening. Does everyone else treat stains straight away or do you leave them a few days?

I'll always treat/wash the stain as soon as I can. It's the only way I've got a fighting chance of getting it out!
