Which cordless vacuum?

Probably been done several times, but I couldn't find earlier threads.... my cordless Dyson battery won't charge and I wasn't that impressed by it anyway.... dragged the old Dyson cylinder vac out of retirement to find it wasn't working either! So have decided to buy a new cordless vac, preferably with better suction, larger dust container and longer battery life than Dyson...considering a Shark...

Tell me about your sharks? Would your recommend them?

Any other makes I should consider?

TIA

I have a Shark (True Pet Cordless Flexology) and it’s fantastic! Two settings, one for hard floor and one for carpets. You can also do a burst of extra power if needed. Comes with an attachment so you can use it handheld on the stairs, sofas, car seats etc. Only downside is it can’t seem to manage rugs very well (but maybe it’s just me...)

Full battery charge covers us for about 2 weeks (it doesn’t take long to charge up either) and we empty the dust container every week. Probs important to note though that I live in a 2 bed semi with mostly laminate, with a dog and my very messy DP Smile

Thanks @Jellybean94 .... probably worth mentioning we're in a 4 bed house, mix of hard floor and carpet, 4 of us and two cats (one v fluffy!)... considering getting the dual battery option....

Annoyingly, all the online reviews say the Dyson v11 is the best cordless vac! Admittedly my one is a much, much older model so maybe they've improved.... anyone have a v11?

I love my shark, we have wood floors downstairs and carpets upstairs it's great on both, we have a 4 bed semi with 2 kids and 2 cats, if I'm doing the whole house it would probably need recharging. The only thing I dont like is the single battery wish we'd got one with 2 batteries.

Thanks @jmh740 .... if I go with shark I'd definitely buy two batteries as that's one of the appeals... and would still be cheaper than the new Dyson! One review said they wouldn't recommend it for carpets though, but clearly you don't have that isssue....

I just bought the Shark (pet model with 2 batteries). I've had 3 cordless Dyson's and am fed up of the performance issues - the battery always seems to go and need replacing. The Shark is less user-friendly (a bit more clunky to put together, empty etc) but otherwise, works really well (we have a mix of tiles, wood and carpet). The dual battery works well, I can pretty much do the whole of my downstairs twice over on one charge.

Thanks... have ordered a shark...decided to ignore favourable Dyson reviews given how disappointing they've been in the past, not mention pricey!
