Breadbin to stop bread going mouldy??

I have a large metal bin but bread( white and brown sliced loaves) are going mouldy within 2 days! I have large family so need big storage capacity. I don't like putting bread in fridge as it makes bread hard. Should I wrap bread in fabric bread before storing in bin or should I get wooden bin to allow bread to breathe? Any ideas please?

That's not on. Have you done the mother of all cleans on it to remove any lingering spores in crevices etc?

I've never had this problem with our wooden bin but I would start with the assumption that you have a little mould factory somewhere in your particular bin. Also metal can get very warm in the sun (or anywhere warm - on top of the fridge?) which would really encourage mould. A wooden bin out of the sun would stay much cooler.
