Ours has packed in and looking on-line is overwhelming, not to mention the price of some.
We have a mix of hard floors ana carpet/rugs. Not pets but children. Two flights of stairs.
Recommendations very welcome! TIA

I recently bought a dyson v7 motorhead. It's not cheap (£250) but it's amazing and I love it! So light-weight and easy to use, great suction.

Shark - hands down.
I have three labs who shed enough to build another dog between them and it handles their hair.
The first time I used it after my Vax packed in and I only managed to do the hall and downstairs bathroom before I had to empty it, which shows how awful my Vax was performing.

Another vote for the Shark! I didn't think I could rate a vacuum so highly!! I love mine!

Shark here too👍 I really love it. So easy to take apart and clean, and good suction. But a corded one, not cordless. Wouldn't go back to cordless again as the charge is never enough (4-bed house).

Definitely Shark - and I have worked my way through dozens and dozens of all makes, sizes, shapes etc.
Shark is the best we have ever had.

ineedaholidaynow · 12/08/2019 19:28

Which Sharks have people got, especially those with dogs?

FairfaxAikman · 12/08/2019 19:40

I have the 801 (liftaway duoclean, corded)

Just a tip for those that have one and my not have realised, but it you take the top of the brush bit there's a wee hidden tool for taking hair off the roller. I had my shark months before I found it

Not a fan of Dyson anymore. I've bought two in the last 4years (ones a cylinder big one and one is a cordless stick) both are exasperating especially the stick.
Filters need cleaning frequently and parts unclogging a lot. Sometimes I think they've got minds of their own.

Wow, I had never heard of shark until I started searching for vacuum cleaners and had dismissed them as an unknown brand. I am glad I started this thread - thanks all!
