Just got a bleach splash on new black jeans 🙄 Are they salvageable? Would the in wash dylon work or just dye the stain pinky grey?

Thanks!

Colour the stain in with a permanent black Sharpie pen?

Bleach doesn't "stain" - it removes the colour from the fabric. All you can do is to colour the mark with a black marker pen.

But if she washes the jeans won’t the marker wash off

LoafofSellotape · 01/08/2019 14:43

Not if it's permanent

Palaver1 · 01/08/2019 15:21

Oh that’s good to know

I have had exactly the same issue and I in my case the Black marker pen washed out. ☹️

I have this week been using liquid black shoe polish - the stuff with the sponge end applicator - and so far working brilliantly. I just dabbed it on and then left to dry for several hours before washing by hand in Stergene. So far colour is holding fast 🤞. Am about to do third wash tomorrow.

"In my case"

Don't know where the extra "I" appeared from. 🙄

I've dyed several pairs of jeans and trousers to cover bleach marks over the years. It has always worked. I'm much more careful now!
