Washing very oily clothes

Ds has asked me to wash his hi-vi's work coat at the weekend. It's covered on oil so I don't think bio powder and a hot machine wash will be enough (and would probably leave loads of oil in the machine).

Any tips on washing very oily work clothes please?

Maybe soak in soda Crystals first

Neat washing up liquid directly on the stain, rub in and wash in machine without detergent.

Repeat

Once stain has gone, wash as normal.

I use the quick wash setting and then do a normal long wash.

It's not really a stain, looks more like it's been rolled in oil 😕

Will try soda crystals and washing up liquid, thanks. What's the best way to clean the washer afterwards?

Elbow grease spray it on the areas let it sit for a while then wash in bio washing up powder

Thanks for the tip about the elbow grease spray. Good stuff but I dread to think what's in it. Coat is looking much better.

It really works ! there really is so much crap in most detergents but sometimes they are a blessing .
