Organising photograph albums

My ancient Ps are moving into a warden controlled flat soon so we have been decluttering for them. I have taken away their photograph albums and scrap books to try and organise these for them. They traveled the world in early retirement following the cricket so have lots of photographs and paper ephemera related to those travels eg one full photograph album for each tour with a lot of photos of their never to be seen again traveling companions. They also have family photos of my sibling and I and of our children.

So far, I have ordered a couple of fresh albums; one for ancestor photos and one for highlights of immediate family life.

Any tips or hints on how I can go about tackling this organisational task?

You sound like you've got it covered? I find it helpful to number the albums and have a list of what is in each. And then they are all on a Billy bookcase, with a little basket for the inevitable lose ones.

Scrap book the travel one and give it to them for Christmas. Get them talking about their travels and write down little anecdotes.
