I need to get my oven looking like new before we move out of here, the Army take no prisoners!

Im trying to look into proffesional cleaning, but no website has prices!

Anyone know roughly how much OvenU charge?!

I really cant be scraping and scrubbing for hours in my condition!!

There must be loads of Army wives who know that, surely?

A friend of ours is an Army doctor and when they got marched out they paid a firm to do the whole house.

Maybe the SAAFi (or whatever it's called) would give you an idea?

Hope the move goes well, btw.

JARM · 31/07/2007 23:03

I dont really know the wives round here mumble - im a bit of a hermit and the ones i do know, do it themselves!

Roll on next week, hopefully be out of here and not have to worry anymore about the state of a house!

oven cleaning has got to be the worst job ever. I've just bought a new cooker specifically cos it has a pyrolytic something or other - heats up to 650degrees and everything turns to a light ash. Well cool!

TheMoistWorldOfSeptimusQuench · 31/07/2007 23:25

Will watch with interest.

I posted about 2 months ago asking for adivce on how to clean my dreadful stinking encrusted oven.

Have bought the recommended products, but still not got my arse into gear & cleaned the darned thing

What a miserable job. Do OvenU do it for you then?

JARM · 31/07/2007 23:26

Yep, OvenU are a nationwide company apparently who come in and do it for you - exactly what i need, but all depends on the cost really!

Whatever it is, pay it!

Even if it's beans on toast for a week, it would be worth it.

You can tell I'm a lazy cow can't you.

TheMoistWorldOfSeptimusQuench · 31/07/2007 23:37

OK, I have just googled, & e-mailed my local OvenU representative, the lovely Dave, for a quote.

Will let you know what he says...

(What a fantastic business idea, BTW. Wish I'd thought of that. Grrr)

JARM · 01/08/2007 13:58

I also emailed last night, but not had a response as yet.

Doesnt Cod have an oven cleaning man?!

My friend had hers done by OvenClean (OvenKlene? OvenKlean? not sure how it's spelt!!) - it was about £50 - £60, I think that included the hob.

Housemum · 01/08/2007 14:09

Aha - found it! Ovenclean

brendar75 · 01/08/2007 14:12

I think Ovenu is usually about 60 - 70 quid - my sister in law has had them in to clean her oven, and said the finished result was remarkable!

JARM · 01/08/2007 14:17

Just called Oven Clean - they seem to think about £40 so not too bad! Waiting for a guy to phone with a proper quote!
