Thingymajig for lights - can anyone help??

We have two bedside touch control lights, fitted with standard lightbulbs. When we bought them they came with a 'tool', I think it was plastic, that was needed to change the bulbs and tighten the fitting. Two house moves later, this 'tool' has gone missing and both lightbulbs have blown. Does anyone have any idea what this might have been called so that I can buy another one and have functioning lights again?! TIA

Could you take a picture of the light and bulb. Its normally the flat surfaced bulbs that need a remover tool, not standard bulbs

Can you not just twist the bulb with your hand if they are standard bulbs?

So after further investigation (and ignoring DH!), the bulb can indeed be changed without the tool. However, I think it is still needed to tighten up the fitting. I'll try and post a picture now to show what I mean...

The lightshade has come loose from the main light, as you can see here

Does it look like this:

Thanks @dementedpixie, that well might be it. I genuinely can't remember what the original looked like as I think I only had to use it once. A quick bit of Googling makes it look helpful though. Do you happen to know if they come in different size or whether it's a one size fits all type thing?
