please help - i have a mental block against both these things, but i need something that my parents or we can sleep on comfortably. i don;t want a bulky sofabed at all, and dh hates futons for some illogical reason. is an aerobed worth the money?

If they don't mind Scooby Doo Argos have a ready bed in the sale.

definately worth the money.......we got a fab one with an actual bed stand with a fitted sheet thingy that u put the blow up mattress in. bout 80 quid but its really comfortable and comes in a holdall for storing away

What about getting a daybed - size of a single, but with second mattress underneath that wheels out to make a double?

oranges · 31/07/2007 18:58

hhmm, not sure about scooby doo fawkeoff and cantsleep - where do i find these beds?i like the sound of a daybed

I hate airbeds find them really uncomfy esp with another person.

I second CSWS, and would get a rollaway bed

We bought a fabulous one from here last year, but they don't have it any more. This is the only one I can find on their site, but I did find them in lots of other places when I was looking. You can often get optional 'backs' for them too.

We have aerobed and they are marvellous esp the raised ones. They are cheapest at tesco.com

Aha - have found ours on the .com version of the store, rather than .co.uk!

oranges · 31/07/2007 19:12

thank you! can't sleep - yours are lovely but out of my price range. suew, i love the eclick one, but its a bed, rather than a chair. will ponder.

oooh i've just had a thought, is there such a thing as a double mattress on a frame that can roll under our existing double bed, and be rolled out when needed? does that exist?

Another vote for an Aerobed - we've had blow up beds before which were pants, but the Aerobed is reeeeeeally comfy plus it self inflates and deflates and is well worth the extra £££ IMHO.
