Morning All,

so, I have my first cleaning lady coming tomorrow for 3 hours. Bit unsure of what to leave out for her, etc. She has very little English, so almost impossible to explain to her. Her daughter translates if I text her... I have booked her for 3 hours, with priority on kitchen, bathroom/downstairs toilet/en-suite, floors and anything after that is a bonus. We'll be here to let her in and I plan to come back then at the end of 3 hours to pay her. But how do I check what she has done/not done so that I can finish it off myself later ("slight" OCD on my part 😳 ). Any words of wisdom would be appreciated.

As a side topic - am I the only one getting less than nothing done since kids are on school hols? I have an 8 & 5 yr old boys who use every room as a dining room, and an 8 month old baby so there is no time in the day when I can get stuck into anything - just about keeping on top of the never-ending laundry pile Smile

I would message her before she comes and say what the priorities are and to focus on those first. Her daughter can translate. You will have to trust that she will do it and pay her. If you aren't happy you don't have to get her again.
I'm also getting a lot less done now the children are here all day - I clean one area move onto the next and then the first one is in a mess again! I have no answers!

We use a translation ap for all of our cleaners, assuming she has a phone. If not, write out the job spec and ask her if her DD can translate it.

Getting the things checked. I use a white cloth to run over areas to see they have been cleaned, I have a large box of cloths and cleaning stuff which I leave out with the vacuum, mops, feather duster etc.

I would not go out on first visit. Can you write up a list of your priorities and any specifics, google translate if needs be.
