How do you treat your oak furniture?

A couple of years ago we bought new furniture for our lounge and dining room from a small independent furniture company. I am completely happy with it.
When talking to a friend she asked how often I wax it. Embarrassingly, the answer is never. I dust with a microfiber cloth, occasionally it will be sprayed with some Method almond furniture polish first, and that's it.
When I mentioned it to my sister in law she said Oak Furniture Land sold her a tub of wax and insisted it was the only thing she should use or it broke the warranty. She said they were really scathing of spray furniture polishes. So I'm wondering if I'm missing something that could help preserve my furniture.
A quick Google has come up with a range of polishes, oils and waxes, and varying advice on frequency and method, but I'm totally confused.
So how often do you treat your furniture and what do you use?

It think it depends on the finish your oak furniture originally had though. Ours was oiled, and so we oil ours sometimes.

Definitely not spray polishes like Pledge etc! I use a hard wax when I remember and for a wipe down of the coffee table I use Wood Silk or Method for wood.

Mine gets a rub of a damp cloth every few months when I remember to/stop putting off dusting.(I find dusting probably the most pointless activity in the history of humanity.)

Oh blimey. I didn't know you're supposed to do this 😬

I'd stick with oil. Wax will seal the wood.

I do mine about twice a year with orange oil, it feeds the wood and gives a lovely finish, I think it's Parker's orange oil. Rest of the time I just dust it.
