anyone out there got a linden wooden looking stairgate??

Hello, this is my first post - I'm usually too shy and just nose in on everyone else's conversations.... Just wonder if anyone can help, we've got said stairgate and not sure how to put it up.... dd is now nearly 6 so it's been a while (and several moves) since it was last used - I've got a gate, 2 spare wooden poles and some metal connectors, but can't for the life of me work out how to make it stand up - shurley shome mishtake?? Ds is 8 months and doing the 100 metre dash all over the house, can anyone shed any light please? Thank you kind mumsnetters thank you

possibly part of the exh's revenge, only ever giving up most of a piece of equipment!

I had a hard time with mine until I realised I had the bits upside down so it might be worth checking that out first.
