Since my family and I moved into our ground floor flat two weeks after we moved in mould started to appear in places. A person from housing association came to look at the problem told us just to use mould spray. We have been doing this alot through out a whole year and half living here we also purchased de humidifiers however the problem is now worse. My one year old son's room smells of mould and his toy's are covered in green mould and recently he has had a cold and cough and believe this could be why. Also had to get rid of alot of our wooden furniture because of the mould. I am really starting to hate living in this flat and fear for my son's health and I am getting ready to try for a second baby. I will be glad when we go on holiday in a couple of weeks but dreading coming back to the mould. Any advice to get rid of this mould problem? I feel housing association is not much help. We have also had other problems with the flat such as broken boiler (took 4 months for it to be fixed) leaking pipe under kitchen sink (fixed) , no bathroom fan (got one installed after mould inspection) faulty electric sockets, blocked bathroom sink (fixed ourselves problem caused by previous tenant shoving cotten buds down the sink), broken shower (fixed new fuse switch fitted) and toilet with slow flush and not refilling (fixed recently)We were also told by housing association that the flat was in a terrible state before we moved in. The previous tenant is in debt with bills and we found out from reading a newspaper article online that the previous tenant was arrested for being involved in a drug factory and police had broken into the flat and found money and plants everywhere in the flat which makes us feel uncomfortable with living in this flat. It's irritating the amount of repairs that have been done through out a year and half and the mould is the worst on going problem of all It is in my son's room and our living room.
