Whites wash, boring thread alert!

This will be the most boring thread you read today, I promise.

DDs have just started to need white socks for uniforms / hobbies etc. I now have around 20 pairs of white socks a week which are stained / dirty / whiffy.

How do people manage these? Do I presoak in Vanish or something else? Do you throw them in with the other Whites or boil wash? And what about those bastard colour contrast bows on the side - I shan't be buying those again but will I just cut them off or leave on and hope for the best?
Thanks in advance!

I know someone who has to BOIL her husband's revolting underpants in a pan on the stove. Boak.

I use ariel or lidl biological washing powder on a long cottons wash at 40*, don't overload the machine, fill no more than half way up drum, obviously use the amount of washing powder for very dirty washing.

Job done, gets rid of ground in dirt, smells, blood etc first time with no stain removers.

Mrsjayy · 26/06/2019 08:56

No i don't pre treat anything just put a scoop inwith my washing powder.

Wtf boiling underpants Shock

CMOTDibbler · 26/06/2019 09:03

A soak in Napisan does wonders, then wash with Lidl bio washing powder.

itsboiledeggsagain · 26/06/2019 09:08

I just let them get a bit grey / mud stained and then once in a while do a big boil wash of towels / cloths / baby wipes and girls school socks. It is a token effort I don't care That much but it makes a big difference

Liz38 · 26/06/2019 09:12

I live with the stained underneaths of the socks. They are clean, but stained. Life happens, and if DD kept her shoes on outside it wouldn't happen to her socks so much!

Mrsjayy · 26/06/2019 09:13

I do a boil wash every few months your meant to it cleans your machine through

dudsville · 26/06/2019 09:18

In terms of boring topics, I offer you this op... I can two white items. My oh owns no white items. Trying to work out how and when to wash these so I'm not being too wasteful is a boring pain.

Mrsjayy · 26/06/2019 09:23

Do you have towels that are well washed dudsville i would stick your 2 whites in with them

Gazelda · 26/06/2019 09:25

I use vanish powder in with non bio liquid on a 40 wash. And don't worry about the tiny bows, they survive fine.
