Help! I have a sofa bed that I need to get upstairs but it’s seeming near on impossible... any advice on getting furniture around tight corners?

Usually you have to (Ross from Friends) PIVOT it round corners, over bannisters and suchlike, using the 'hollow' in the front where the cushions go.

Or you might need to turn it completely vertically/on end and go that way?

Thank you. I’ve given up for now but will try again later on with some help. Maybe attempting too much doing it on my own. (I realise of course I am... that sounds ridiculous out loud!) it has one of those metal fold out beds inside so I’ve taken the bed out of the sofa for ease and less weight but still hugely struggling and managed to chip a wall I will now have to fix! We live in a 2 up 2 down and I was silly and didn’t measure before hand, it’s for my teenage DS bedroom for having friends over... maybe he can help me out later on 😁

Definitely not a one person job, OP.
And I also clicked on this in order to say PIVOT!

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 25/06/2019 13:16

I hear ya OP.

I once got an enormous, heavy unit all the way up the stairs by myself, only to be confounded with the turn on the landing. And had to admit defeat and lug it all the way down again (harder than it sounds)

My two nephews managed to get it into the upstairs room in about 30seconds flat!

Yes very silly idea to be attempting it alone. I’m just a bit impatient and always like to think I can do whatever needs doing but this isn’t one of those occasions I’ve discovered!
Haha buzzshitbagbobbly you sound like me! Always trying to attempt things alone but I’m going to be sensible and wait until I have help.
We ended up abandoning and going for an afternoon treat to the cinema yesterday (much more fun than moving furniture)
But today will (hopefully) be the day! 💪🏼

I got it upstairs! 🥳
Decided to be patient and wait for help and it took us less than 5 minutes, teenage son is very happy 😁

Well done Plodding

Next time, remember that a strong independent woman knows when to ask for help.
