Just googled this because I have never heard of this before. Have a look here

Looks complicated to me, must try it out tomorrow.

sparklygothkat · 26/07/2007 00:56

Its really easy once you get the hang of it.

totaleclipse · 26/07/2007 00:58

wow

Egypt · 26/07/2007 01:40

omg. thats amazing

Budababe · 26/07/2007 05:09

Wow - looks easy but am sure it's not!

Will try later!

Egypt · 26/07/2007 05:10

tried it, its great. but didnt look folded inside - only on the outside!

pyjamaqueen · 26/07/2007 07:05

What about the one above it? Looks mad to begin with, but stick with it.

mustrunmore · 26/07/2007 07:49

Butthats how you fold them anyway! I dont really seethe need for all the cardboard...!

Budababe · 26/07/2007 08:20

No - the cardboard one seems like a whole lot of palaver. Japanese one seems quicker.

FlameParakeet · 26/07/2007 08:23

I tend to fold like that all the time now

blossomsmine · 26/07/2007 21:47

Thanks! I still can't do it they end up all wonky...

My sister loves doing the Japanese folding, although I've never mastered it. She even pretends to speak Japanese when doing it.

I think she's pretending, actually, I wouldn't know

littledawley · 28/07/2007 14:52

I can do it but only as a party piece - t-shirts fall open as soon as you pick them up. Learn how to do it though and wow all your friends!!

im just going to fetch a t shirt to practice, what a saddo!

kinki · 29/07/2007 20:41

I do this fold, and its saved me loads of time. It works with long sleeve tops/shirts too, you just have to tuck the second sleeve back into the shirt.

If you iron, try this tip: after you iron a shirt, sling it over a chair, carry on ironing all the shirts, slinging them over the chair as you go along, so you have a large pile of ironed, unfolded shirts. Then lift the whole pile onto the board. Starting from the top of the pile, fold away, one after the other. Each shirt literally takes 2 seconds, so a pile of 10 shirts will take less than half a minute. It really will half your ironing time.

I am sooooo undomesticated, I can't believe I've just given an ironing tip.

arfur · 30/07/2007 20:03

I did a huge amount of ironing yesterday and folded all theur t-shirts the Anthea way for the first time and I have to say that I was so proud of the beautifully folded piles that I put away (took up less room in the drawers too) this is a real breakthrough for me as I loathe ironing and housework in general. Actually I didnt think it would work on long sleeved tops but will give it a try now! Sorry for being so tragic!

I still can't do the t-shirt folding, but I've cracked towels and fitted sheets [sad emoticon] !

CrookshanksinJimmyChoos · 30/07/2007 20:19

It won't play!

Any chance of describing it to me? I know you had to put it on your arm.....but beyond that...???!!!

ludaloo · 30/07/2007 20:27

Oh no Ok...I'll write down what she says....

Fitted Sheets...

Get all the fitted bits folded in the same way....the top of the sheet over your arm...

Lay it down with the folded bits facing you, fold each side inwards, the fold the bottom up to the top

voila... (does that make sense!?)

ludaloo · 30/07/2007 20:32
