Environmentally friendly containers for butchers/ fishmongers?

I've bought my own bags for buying loose fruit and veg. I live somewhere where we are lucky enough to have a great baker, butchers and fishmonger. Unfortunately these end up in plastic bags with the sealed tag.

Any suggestions as to how to get fish/meat home in a non plastic bag?

Glass ‘tupperware’?

I used to bring pots to the butchers but they still used a plastic bag as a glove to handle the meat so I found that I wasn't saving any plastic. Sadly I gave up.

if you already have them: tupperware syle containers.
if not, Ikea makes glass storage containers with bamboo lids.
pyrex (I think) also does glass containers with lockable lids.
