Air con unit

Hello all, I have a couple of hundred max to spend on an air con unit, something I've wanted for ages. Can anyone recommend a decent one? It wouldnt have to do the whole house, as I could just move it around. No idea if you can even get one to do a whole house!

They need a vent to the outside, we have a couple of units but can't move them around as we've had to drill massive holes out of the wall for it to pump all the heat out x

Due to house layout my friend has hers on her landing, it vents with a hose into the loft space, the hose is fed into the loft hatch and she is able to turn it toward each bedroom to cool it down.

We have one, it is good but if you vent it out of a window then only the bottom 15-20cm is used by the vent, the rest of the open window lets warm air in. I know some people have made things to cover the open window to prevent warm air ingress.

The best thing we have found is ceiling fans in the bedrooms, cross venting the house (windows open on front and back) and closing blinds to keep the heat of the sun out.

If you put an air con unit in permanently then you need to have an outside vent drilled out and it needs to put the warm air somewhere.
