How long till towels stop shedding fluff?!

I have some new blue towels, and washed them before use. However, each time I use them they cover me and the bathroom in blue fluff. Any idea how long it will be before they stop doing this?!

I've got some dark purple ones which I bought 4 years ago and they've only recently stopped shedding purple fluff everywhere, it drove me mad !
