Motivation to tidy

I have woken at 1 am and thought would get on and tidy the whole house. Feel so defeated by it though....it feels like an endless task that will never go away. Find it completely overwhelming and it is stopping me from getting much more important things done. However you cant live in a complete tip. Thought I would ask for some support in getting through it.Does anyone have any advice?

Ok...back again... going to really try and get on top of the whole house before I go back to bed. sp woke at 3 and so now Im up.... might as well use the time. Feel that Im making life so much worse for them by allowing this awful mess.... does anyone else feel like that?
anyway.... so where was I... clear the piano.

Do you work? Maybe if your DC are old enough to leave their shoes lying around they're also old enough to put them away?
Give them two jobs a day.

Hi op

Have you had a look at the flylady thread on here? Lots of motivation on there sharing lists of cleaning / tidying / decluttering. Very friendly thread and lots of posts each day. Most of us only follow flylady loosely if her fairyness puts you off! Tbh i am only there for the motivation and chat

Hi! I did look at fly lady... will have another look... hmm... well yes I do work or im meant to but I feel so overwhelmed by the house that that is somehow taking over and filling up and there seems to be no time for work!! so that is a crisis waiting to happen....
yes... I agree about the small person helping... ok... 2 jobs a day...
