I need tips on how to clean the rubber round the door of my washing machine I keep wiping it out but it still stinks. Help please

It smells foosty and I am not sure what I can use on it to clean it. I have heard of putting bicarbonate of soda but I think that’s to clean the actual machine. Thought it might rot the rubber. Any tips?

I use dettol washing machine cleanser. I also put a paper towel when I’m done with the laundry and leave the door slightly open for fresh to go in and never get any smell. The paper towels suckers up the remaining water that stays between the rubber after the washing
