How to clean a flat screen TV

We're having to move everything out of the kitchen as we're having an extension and a new kitchen built. So far, so lovely (and expensive!)

But I have a TV in the current kitchen, and we have never had an extractor fan, so it's got very dirty/greasy. I've been able to clean the surround, but am very wary of trying to clean the screen itself, as I don't want to damage the TV.

In an ideal world, because it's grease, I'd be using something like Fairy Ultra, or washing up liquid and elbow grease - but I know those will damage the screen.

What can I use that will be effective but won't damage the screen?

TIA

I know they say not to but I always clean mine with a damp cloth that's been wrung out in soapy water and then dry it quickly with kitchen paper.

Oh no! Surely you will be scratching the screen using kitchen paper?!

A warm wet microfibre cloth with a bit of fairy in the water, then a dry microfibre cloth.

It's absolutely fine. I think TV manufacturers are just being overly cautious so you don't go at it with a Brillo pad and a bucket of water Grin

Grin

Thanks both
