I have given away or sold hundreds of CDs in the last few years, but I still have about 500 albums and between DH and me we own about 1500. We don't want to digitise everything as we are not that into devices and it seems silly to have the original and just listen to an MP3 copy. Nor do we want to throw away cases and keep them in envelopes, as DH feels that risks damage/loss and I tend to agree.
When we can afford it, I would like to pay a carpenter to put up some proper shelving, but ATM they are split between a cabinet built for DVDs and some open racks. I have been seriously thinking about setting myself a maximum number, being really ruthless about what I love and getting rid of the rest, but I'm not sure if this will work. It feels a bit soulless and I have done so may passes already...
Has anyone else done this? What do you think? TIA.
