I need an ace set of knives. Sick of struggling with my blunt rubbish ones.

Can anyone recommend a brand?

Not really but I have a Kitchen Devil kknife that I prefer to other ones. The right knife makes a big difference.

I have Sabatier knives that must be 25 years old and are still perfect. They're not madly expensive either.

Any kitchen knives can be good if you sharpen them properly. Get a whetstone and watch YouTube tutorials on how to use them.

I’m a chef by trade and use MAC knives usually. But I have a set of kitchen ones I got for £30 10 years ago and just keep them screamingly sharp on the whetstone and they’re great.

True, Mustard ... my SIL's knives are very expensive but always blunt, drives me mad!

DH is into his knives in this house. We've now got Wüsthof ones and a whetstone and they're great. Make sure you don't use a glass chopping surface if you want to prolong the sharpness of your knives between sharpenings though!

We have Wusthofs as well, the Classic range. I also really like Global knives.
