Help me get this in perspective

I've just had some major work done in my bathroom after a leak behind the shower. My kitchen floor needs fixed too (sunken part in vinyl floor). I have a baby and just feel bit overwhelmed at the thought of more messy work getting this sorted. I want to replace all the floor as the previous owner put in cheap rubbish and it's stained and hard to clean. How big a job is this and will it create loads of mess. I keep thinkng about how dirty the job will be as some floorboards might need replaced (not sure why part of vinyl has sunk) and it's not sealed that well so the sides of the floor must be full of crumbs etc that have fallen in. After the upheaval of the recent work, I'm procastinating getting it done. My baby has stated moving about so it needs done asap. How big a job is this and would you worry about the messor have I got it out of perspective?!
