we need to buy a new washing machine but we seem to have been unlucky recently, I am wondering whether the larger capacity ones are less reliable? or is that fanciful.

also I take recommendations for good machines. nothing fancy but a worker.

Thanks!

I've had an LG 9kg machine for 5 years now, still going strong.

When I bought it I did a bit of research and the general opinion seemed to be, if you want a "good" machine you should be looking to spend about £500 and get one that comes with a 5yr warranty as standard.

My machine went for £600 normally, but with a bit of shopping around and discount codes I got it for £449... This was 5 years ago mind!

We have an LG with 11kg capacity. It’s brilliant. We’ve had it a few years and no problems so far.

Mine has been fine too - it's a Zanussi 10kg Lindo300

Also make sure you do a price comparison website too, my list machine was a Bosch and I got around £300 differences in prices when using a price comparison website

awesome thanks. i am in the 300£ market at the moment because I am sick of paying £500 and then buying another after a couple of years.

My first LG washing machine lasted 18 years was replaced with another LG 6 years ago . This ones a 10kg can’t remember how big the other one was but with a larger drum you can get a super King size duvet in to wash
