Has DH just killed my Spray Mop? <semi-lighthearted>

I know its a first world problem but my daft husband filled our spray mop with BOILING water yesterday and now it sprays like a 80-year-old man with prostate problems.
What do the wise housekeepers of mumsnet think? Has he melted its insides and should I now make him lick the floor clean or does this stuff happen with Vileda spray mops and its just pure coincidence?

Hahahaa I managed to completely gunk mine up by putting diluted Jif Cream in it once when I'd run out of liquid floor cleaner... I'd forgotten that Jif has bits in it (those micro-crystal things) and completely ruined it.

I'm afraid husband may need to start licking the floor to pay for his crime.

If you're lucky, maybe he just destroyed the bottle element of it. Perhaps get a replacement bottle and see if that improves its functionality?

@bollockwort

Annoyingly, it's the one where you fill the actual handle with water so the whole thing is basically kaput.
I did wonder if I could give it the domestic tool equivalent of colonic irrigation with some Viakal or similar.
Anyway, not to be outdone I dropped a Pyrex lid tonight, which exploded in classic where-does-it-all-come-from fashion.
We are rather domestically challenged, to saybtge leastGrin
