Just that really. Daughter had mobile hairdresser round and there's now a few spots of dye on the lino. Have tried the usual spray bleach, method spray etc can anyone help, Lino is a white/ grey shiny stripe, hair dye is brown Confused. Thanks in advance!

The problem is that it will have seeped into the lino , it won’t be laying on top. So why treatment would need to seep into the lino too without ruining it.

My best advice would be to try two things. I had dye from a coat leech into a white painted bathroom radiator. I tried the usual things, magic sponge, bleach etc to no avail.

Then I realised I had some Stain devils downstairs that I had for ink on my son’s white school shirts. I used that on a clean cloth and it came off!!! If that hadn’t have worked I was going to get that colour remove hair dye you can get that strips the colour from your hair after a bad hair job.

So that would be my advice. If you have any offcuts of the lino in the garage or loft I would obviously do a test patch first. But otherwise one of those two options might work.

Good luck!

@sheshootssheimplores thank you! I do have some offcuts so I'll try some stain devil on that first. So annoying!

I put a bleached soaked paper towel on the stain overnight.

That worked, but you’d need to check for colour fastness. Hair dye is really hard to get out.

Nail varnish remover, the cheaper the better.

In haste I tried cillit bang bathroom foam, and it worked. Sort of. Still a very feint mark but I'm hoping it will wear off eventually. Thank you for the replies
