Amtico Spacia- issues keeping it clean

Paid a small fortune for Amtico Spacia in a cool limestone for downstairs. (Kitchen and utility mainly.) It's pale cream with a light grey mottled pattern.

It gets little wear- just the two of us, no pets, and it's a 'shoes off house!

However, if the floor is splashed while washing up etc and it gets a grubby mark on it, I'm finding it almost impossible to remove with a mop- needs getting down with a cloth and literally scrubbing. The small marks seem almost ingrained.

I emailed Amtico who suggested stripping it but it's only been down for 6 months!

I have Amtico in a bathroom in a dark slate finish and after 20 years it's still new looking. That was sealed after putting it down (by the fitters) whereas the new lot was factory sealed and has a totally matte finish.

Has anyone else got this issue of finding it so hard to clean?

Are you in a hard or soft water area?

If it's hard water that could be the reason why it's noticeable, but I'd expect the same in the bathroom - if not worse as it's a dark colour.

If it's really bothering you then have it professionally stripped and re-sealed and see if it makes a difference.

Hi, just found your message after Googling my issue and I’m having exactly the same problem after only a week!

Water area fine and I also have a filter on the main tap. 1 person household. Seems daily there are dirty marks on it that I can’t just wipe with the flat mop, but need hands and knees job, while the rest of the house is done in Polyflor which feels smoother and easier to clean.

The Limestone Cool has a gritty feel to it and I wonder if that’s what’s holding onto the usual kitchen type muck

Did you ever get a resolution? I hope so because this was NOT cheap lol!!
