Skirting board cleaning

Not the most thrilling of topics I know but it is driving me mad. We have a new build, great I thought everything will be white and fresh. Hmm... the skirting boards throughout the house are painted white with two shallow ridges, the ridges are however rough not smooth so clothes, kitchen roll etc used to clean inside the ridges just gets torn apart and I'm left with bits of yellow.

How do i clean this ridges? They really collect dust. Is there a magic tool I need or a certain method.

Please help

A damp cloth.

I'd say a damp cloth or the little brush attachment on your vac? Works a treat for me - I also use a long reach feather duster if my back is bad and I'm not feeling like a kneel and vac! A friend of mine swears by dryer sheets apparently the static helps stop dust building up 🤷🏻‍♀️

Get a firm-bristled brush and use that along the skirting board to shift dust off, then mop/wipe it up from the floor.

I would gently sand them smooth with fine sand paper then add a fresh white top coat of paint. Worth it to get rid of an ongoing irritation like you described, when it never seems clean even when you've just cleaned it.
