Valances

MarciaDidia · 13/05/2019 14:32

I left my DH in charge of choosing beds for our kids and he's bought divans (fine).

However, the divans aren't the nice upholstered kind but would, in my view, need a valance to cover up the rather ugly bed base. But the beds have built-in drawers and I imagine a valance could be annoying when trying to open the drawers. Anyone else had this problem or know of any neat solutions?

TIA

Use the drawers for out-of-season clothes.

I have always had a valance on a divan with drawers. I use them for pyjamas, shoes (not every day ones) and bags. A valance isn’t too much of a problem, but if you get one that isn’t long enough it can look a bit untidy. When we eventually buy a new bed I will try and get one that is nicely upholstered though!

I think the box pleat ones look better than the ruffled ones.

Dear All

I forgot all about this thread. Thank you for your replies. I will think about what I put in the drawers. I agree box pleat ones are nicer.

Thanks again
