Big Tea mugs

I like my tea in large mugs, there are very few well designed mugs which would hold more than 350 ml (~12 oz) of water. I know most people don't mind or prefer their hot drinks in smaller mugs.
Also additional challenge is that majority of shops online actually don't tell you how big their mugs are, and I stopped looking having spent few evenings trawling internet a couple of years ago.

The best design of a mug I own (as in how it is engineered so it holds properly in my small hand) is a 450 ml mug from Starbucks. I feel that Starbucks had them designed by some professional industrial designer as they just feel right in my hand. I would however prefer a no brand look.
Do you know any other places which produce good quality, no brand mugs? Do you have any favourites?

I've got four of these, they fill to almost a pint and they're nice and solid, dishwasher proof.

The capacity of most mugs sold by John Lewis is on their website under product specifications.

Royal Doulton tell you the capacity of their mugs online.
They have several shaped mugs all over 400ml, each shape has lots of designs

They're not cheap but we got the le creuset rainbow ones. Love them. They're big and solid and a year later no stains.

Anthropologie sell giant mugs. Beautiful designs too.

I also drink out of a Starbucks one....the 'large size' not sure of mls. We bought ours - didn't pinch it like lots of people have suggested to me(!). It's my second one as I dropped the first. I love it. But they don't sell them anymore. I don't know what I will do when it breaks ....no other mug is quite so perfect! Lol.

Please buy them from Emma Bridgewater. She built a factory in Stoke on Trent which is a very depressed part of the county. She keeps a lot of people in work and I try to support that as much as I can.

You can get 12oz mugs from www.cornishware.co.uk/mugs , various colours available.

Or Whittards?

Lots of great ideas from other posters too. My DS loves his tea in pint size mugs. I am going to buy him few of those Bartleet's ones linked by @SpoonBlender and a set of paint for his Birthday for him to decorate them.

Brilliant Fere.

SpoonBlender · 11/05/2019 16:18

Oh, that's a great idea! Love a home-painted mug.

Nanasueathome · 11/05/2019 16:48

I love the Dunoon ones...the ones with the sheep on

BigusBumus · 11/05/2019 17:11

My DH has an absolutely hateful massive one from Sports Direct that came "free" with an order. (Its wasn't free it was a quid but he forgot to untick the box).

FrogFairy · 11/05/2019 17:59

I have a collection of 12 and 14 oz mugs from Starbucks. I buy them in the sales.

I got a lovely sabichi one from Tesco a little while back that is enormous too.

Love a good mug.

Sunnysidegold · 12/05/2019 18:11
