Our current house and required maintenance is getting on top of me. We have a very large garden which i knew would be a lot of work, but luckily its been designed by the previous owners to be low maintenance so it's not too bad eg large lawn, lots of trees and shrubs rather than flower beds so little weeding, no pond etc.

But the house gets on top of us - its quite big, 3 bathrooms, lots of glass doors which get sticky finger marks all over them, not enough storage so clutter is visible, dado rails which gather dust, open plan so mess visible.etc. It got me thinking what could be a lower maintenance house? any things we could change (short of a refit!)?

Get a cleaner.
Dust /fingerprints no longer your responsibility!!

More storage will help as everything will have its place so less picking up for you and less dusting as it will be stored away.

Have small cleaning kits in each of the bathrooms So you can spot clean or if your in there you can do a quick once round.

Maybe look at a robot hoover, should cut down on the dust that will keep being kicked up.

I live in a mid 2 bed terrace and love it. Can clean it all within two hours. We have loads of storage (ottoman beds, building a pantry and being minimalist)
