I’ve just gone for the trial offer of these two products.

Has anyone here used them and what’s your experiences?

I’ve been using smol washing pouches for a year and dishwasher tabs for a couple of months.

I find them just as good as my previous products and I love the fact that they’re cheaper and are delivered in the post.

Singlebutmarried · 26/04/2019 19:00

Yay good to know. I’m loving the idea of delivery. Do you use softener with yours?

For a second I thought this was a baby naming thread and thought 'oh god they're bloody awful' Blush

HundredMilesAnHour · 26/04/2019 19:04

Tried Smol but despite really wanting to like it, it didn't get my washing as clean as Ariel does. So I went back to Ariel. Shame really but the results spoke for themselves.

Singlebutmarried · 26/04/2019 19:05

@prequell

They would be pretty bloody awful names for a child wouldn’t they 😂

Yes I use fabric softener but not every time.

One of the big pluses for me was the no animal testing aspect. I’ve never used any of the big brands for this reason, so I can’t compare them with Ariel or Persil for example.

They get our washing clean, are cheap and the packaging is recyclable. Works for me!

Ftumch · 26/04/2019 19:42

I use smol laundry tabs, they're great. Cheap effective and arrive at my house without having to think about it. When I run out of finish I'll try the dishwasher tabs too. What is Koh?

TigerBreadAddict · 26/04/2019 19:43

I trialled smol but cancelled subscription.
I usually buy a big box of powder and it’s not as economical as that; plus it has the plastic case whereas powder is in cardboard box

lickencivers · 26/04/2019 19:44

I use Koh. Love it tbh. Will buy a refill when this huge box is empty.

isabellerossignol · 26/04/2019 19:47

I'm really impressed with smol for washing clothes. It's not up to the same standard as Ariel for removing stains but as my family are past the toddler stage when stains are at their most prevalent that's not a problem for me. The clothes smell lovely too.

The dishwasher tablets I found ok. I cancelled the subscription to those as I wasn't delighted with them. But I'm definitely continuing with the laundry as I really like it.

Singlebutmarried · 26/04/2019 20:53

Koh is an environmentally friendly one size fits all cleaning solution.

It’s got quite a buzz on fb at the mo and insta (can’t do I start but that’s another story)

Both arriving next week in time for my day off. So will be scrubbing like a good un.

I use Koh. It's great. Works on anything and everything. Just wish it had a 'smell' to it but you can add essential oils to it if you want.

HabbyHadno · 26/04/2019 21:03

Smol did nothing to clean my clothes. I was really hopeful but they all came out still stained (the kids ones) and a not smelling fresh. I've gone back to Persil now.

Slippersandacuppa · 26/04/2019 21:11

I LOVE smol! I haven’t noticed any change is how clean the washing or dishes are but then I have also just been using ecover or method, not the big name animal testers (and I love the smell or Persil!). I’m moving away from both of these though as I’ve redently found out that they’ve been taken over by parents companies who do test on animals :( I’d rather have slightly grubbier looking clothes if that’s the choice.

Hadn’t heard of Koh - looks interesting but are their brushes and sponges plastic? That would put me off. Can’t find anything on their website about that.

FamilyOfAliens · 26/04/2019 22:53

plus it has the plastic case whereas powder is in cardboard box

The smol plastic cases are fully recyclable. Washing powder boxes don’t usually make it through recycling because of how much powder gets trapped in the joins of the box.

Slippersandacuppa · 27/04/2019 00:26

And they can be used as paint pots 👍🏻

TigerBreadAddict · 27/04/2019 18:33

Smol packages are recyclable only if I post them back to smol to be reused. They won’t be taken by my council. I understand they are made from recycled materials, which is good, and also that smol are looking for ways to make them from a biodegradable material.

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 27/04/2019 19:16

Following recommendations on here I’m currently using Smol dishwasher tablets. They work perfectly. I’d used Finish powder happily for years but they changed the formula and it’s now rubbish.

I’m not overly happy about the plastic on the tablets. It’s “dissolvable” but is still micro plastics so I’m still looking for a GOOD powder......

Singlebutmarried · 30/04/2019 14:43

Well the Koh cleaner is AMAZING.

Love it. I am genuinely gobsmacked. Really pleased with it.

Smol has yet to arrive.
